SIIMA 2023: Jr NTR Wins Best Actor, Kantara Sweeps Multiple Categories

Winners of the SIIMA 2023 competition for Telugu and Kannada films were revealed on Friday. On Saturday, the second list of winners will be revealed.

Kannada film Kantara and the Telugu film RRR both took home major prizes at the South Indian International Movie Awards 2023 (SIIMA) on Friday in Dubai. Sita Ramam also received numerous honors, including the prestigious Best Film (Telugu) award. SS Rajamouli won the Best Director prize for RRR despite though he was unable to attend the event. Several more stars joined Jr NTR and Allu Aravind on stage as they accepted his trophy on his behalf. At the ceremony, Jr. NTR also took home the Best Actor honor.

The most prizes were given to Rishab Shetty’s film Kantara, making him the night’s biggest celebrity. However, 777 Charlie won the Best Film prize in Kannada. The complete list of SIIMA 2023 winners is shown below.

The Telugu song “Naatu Naatu” by Chandrabose won the award for best lyrics.

Male Telugu playback singer of the year (Miryala Ram, DJ Tillu title track)

Mangli, singing Jinthaak in Dhamaka, won the Telugu language category for best playback singer.

Senthil Kumar won the Telugu Film’s Best Cinematographer award for RRR.

Telugu’s best debut filmmaker is Mallidi Vassisht for the film Bimbisara.
