OceanGate’s Titan Tragedy Film: Co-Writer Insists the World Deserves Truth

The search for the lost submersible came to an end in June when debris thought to be Titan’s was discovered on the ocean floor.

The OceanGate submersible disaster will be the subject of a film, according to a recent announcement by MindRiot Entertainment. Salvaged is a hypothetical initiative that MindRiot revealed on Friday, according to Deadline. The Blackening producer E Brian Dobbins will co-produce, and MindRiot’s Jonathan Keasey and Justin MacGregor will co-write the movie.

What will the movie be about?

According to the source, the movie will take place between the moment the OceanGate submersible began its dive to explore the Titanic ruins and the realization that the submersible had exploded. The search and rescue crew kept seeking for the five passengers during the five-day ordeal.

What co-writer Jonathan Keasey of the movie said

The Titan Tragedy is just another instance of an ill-informed and eager-to-strike system—in this case, our never-ending, round-the-clock media cycle—that wrongfully accuses and destroys the lives of countless people without following the proper legal procedures, Jonathan told Deadline. In addition to paying tribute to all individuals who were a part of the submersible tragedy and their families, our movie will also act as a platform for a larger discussion regarding the state of the media in this day and age.

“Truth is all that matters,” he continued. The world also has a right to always know the truth, not the juicy bait that people trying to get their five minutes of fame to shove down our throats. Life isn’t always clear-cut. It’s not simple. There is subtlety. Invariably subtle. The movie was unveiled in September, after the announcement of an OceanGate documentary series bearing the same name by MindRiot.

OceanGate tragedy

When debris from a “catastrophic implosion,” thought to be that of Titan, was discovered on the ocean floor on June 22, the search for the missing submarine that was headed to the location of the Titanic catastrophe came to a halt. On Father’s Day, the Titan went missing and disintegrated, taking with it billionaire Hamish Harding, 58, British billionaire Shahzada Dawood, 48, and his son Suleman Dawood, 19, as well as OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, 61, and Titanic expert Paul-Henri Nargeolet, 77.

Following many days, the US Coast Guard declared that “presumed human remains” had been found during the wreckage search. The remnants that were thought to be there “were carefully recovered” from the debris, and the MBI took them for additional examination and testing. Get more updates from Hollywood
