Recently, Jada Pinkett Smith talked about what transpired after the notorious slap between Will Smith and Chris Rock at the Oscars. Her story of never leaving Will Smith’s side seemed to validate her love for the star even after their breakup. Jada recently disclosed that she and Will have been living apart covertly for the previous seven years.

As reported by Variety, Jada discussed how the Oscar slap incident allowed her and Will Smith to do “some really work together” while speaking at the Perelman Performing Arts Center in New York City. “It clicked in,” she added, “while I was sitting at the Oscars.” Just when I thought, “Oh no, you hit Chris?” “I’m riding with you,” I said. Although I didn’t come here to be your wife, I’m leaving as your wife because we have a storm together that we need to weather together. I’m not going to abandon you.

“In 2016, we were both worn out from pulling at each other and power struggles, and I had to learn how to love myself before I could even understand what love looked like from someone else,” she said about their breakup. In addition, she said, “I really had to learn that about Will. I had no right to him.
There was a lot of uproar after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock on the Oscars stage during the 2022 event. Everything began when the comedian emcee joked about Jada’s baldness. Her condition is alopecia. In front of everyone, Will Smith stepped on the stage and gave him a slap. Will said as he returned to his seat, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f—–g mouth.” Will Smith and Jada had been apart for years prior to this.
Will and Jada tied the knot in 1997. Three children—Jaden, 25, Willow, 22, and Trey, 3—are shared by the couple.
