After interviewing AAP MP Sanjay Singh for the entire day during a raid at his home, the Enforcement Directorate took him into custody.
A political standoff has broken out following the arrest of Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh in a money laundering case related to the now-canceled Delhi excise policy. Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the AAP, is allegedly the target of the inquiry, according to the Bharatiya Janata Party.
According to BJP national spokesman Sambit Patra, the Enforcement Directorate has discovered “incriminating documents” from Singh’s home. Patra went on to say that the documents would “incriminate someone who is at the top in the hierarchy of AAP” without identifying anyone.
At a news conference in Bhubaneswar, Patra stated, “It is the nature of the AAP to commit scams openly and do politics after getting caught.”
According to him, “media sources” have reported that documents seized from Sanjay Singh’s home contain evidence implicating a high-ranking member of the AAP.
Manoj Tiwari, a member of the Lok Sabha and the former head of the Delhi BJP, stated at a news conference on Wednesday that he has never seen “criminals” occupy political posts or offices in history.
Even though Sanjay Singh was taken into custody today, Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh will soon be in the background. I think Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will soon be contacted by the ongoing investigation,” Tiwari stated.
Singh was suffering a price for being one of the more outspoken members of the opposition INDIA bloc, according to the Aam Aadmi Party, which condemned the detention as a political vendetta.
“Are the CBI and ED being run by Manoj Tiwari and the BJP? This demonstrates that there is a plot against us, according to AAP spokesman Reena Gupta.
The arrest, according to AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak, was carried out “primarily because they (BJP) have found that it’s very difficult to defeat Arvind Kejriwal”.
“It’s been 15 months, they’ve raided thousands of places, but nothing has come out.” Nothing will come out in this case as well…All they want is to destroy the Aam Aadmi Party.
Leader of the AAP Dilip Pandey said that Sanjay Singh was arrested by the ED after a day-long search yielded nothing.
“People will give a befitting reply to BJP in upcoming elections,” he stated.
