Video: Mahua Moitra Dragged Out in Police Action – TMC Leaders Removed from Protest Site

The TMC MP posted a video of herself being dragged from the protest area by force by police.

Mahua Moitra, the Member of Parliament for the Trinamool Congress, was one of the prominent party leaders arrested by the Delhi Police after a sit-in protest inside Krishi Bhawan. They had been refused a meeting with Union Minister of State for Rural Development Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, who had been granted an earlier appointment. On X (previously Twitter), Moitra posted a video in which she was seen being escorted out of the Krishi Bhawan by guards.

In the video, Moitra is seen being violently lifted off by Delhi Police officers and dragged from the protest site. The individual taking the video can be heard yelling, “Kya kar rahe hain? How are you doing? Wow, ek MP hain. Her name is MP.

Party MP Shantanu Sen said that the Union minister was due to meet TMC leaders at 6 p.m., including general secretary Abhishek Banerjee. The party group was forced to wait for around ninety minutes after which the MoS informed them that she was unable to meet.

This is how elected members of parliament of the biggest democracy in the world are treated after they are scheduled to meet with an Indian government minister, whom they were not allowed to see after three hours of waiting. Moitra said on X, “Shame @AmitShah, shame @narendramodi.”

The delegation had been violently and brutally removed, Moitra cried out as they were being driven away in a bus.

The TMC group was meant to meet with Union Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh earlier, according to Abhishek Banerjee, to discuss the release of funding for the centrally supported MGNREGA and other developmental initiatives.

It was scheduled for Giriraj Singh to meet us at 6:00 p.m. However, it is now 7:30, and he is not present. We were informed earlier that he would see us at noon. However, he then informed us via email that he would not be able to meet with us at the scheduled time. He was obviously lying when he said he wouldn’t be in Delhi, that his aircraft would arrive at 5 p.m., and that he would meet with us at 6 p.m. He has offered to meet with us, but he’s not here. We won’t leave here until he shows up to see us, Banerjee declared.

Before the TMC group came, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari reportedly met with MoS Jyoti at 4 p.m. and gave the minister a letter about purported anomalies in the MGNREGA program in West Bengal.

Noting that the minister could see the head of the BJP but forwent the meeting with the party delegation, the general secretary of the TMC objected to the meeting.
